Galway Bay fm newsroom – It’s hoped the M17/M18 Gort to Tuam motorway may open earlier than planned.
According to Tuam area councillor Sean Canney, the works are progressing very quickly, with contractors working simultaneously on three sections of the route.
Work commenced on the 550 million euro toll-free motorway in April last year.
The first traffic along the new 57km route was originally expected in February 2018.
However, councillor Canney told Keith Finnegan that he’s confident the motorway will open earlier than that.
