Galway Bay fm newsroom – Traffic movement on the N59 near Moycullen improved this morning following long delays yesterday.
Hundreds of motorists were delayed for up to an hour trying to get into the city yesterday morning as children returned to school after the Easter holidays and roadworks began near Killeen Corner.
The roadworks are part of a project to lay a 110 KV electricity line from Roscahill to Ballybrit.
The County Council monitored the Traffic Management Plan for the works yesterday and this morning amid concerns from motorists.
GMC Utilities Group which is carrying out the work for SSE, reviewed its traffic management in a bid to improve delays.
Connemara area Councillor Noel Thomas told Keith Finnegan that this morning’s commute along the N59 was much improved and he hopes it’ll improve further.
