Galway Bay fm newsroom – Waterways Ireland has been given the go-ahead to upgrade walking amenities at Lough Derg in Portumna.
The organisation has been granted planning permission to improve the existing Canoe trail as part of a major enhancement plan for the lake shore in counties Galway, Clare and Tipperary.
The development will also include new trail signage.
Permission has been granted for the upgrade with three conditions attached.
One stipulates that the works must not interfere with existing land or road drainage in the area.
