Galway Bay fm newsroom – There are two parties interesting in leasing the Galway Airport site at Carnmore.
Galway County Council has received two expressions of interest in the lease for the 115-acre site.
The Council advertised the tender for expressions of interest in leasing Galway Airport last month.
The lease would be for a defined period of time up to a maximum of 3 years.
A new lease with Carnmore Aviation Limited has already been agreed prior to this which will expire in December.
Galway City and County Councils own the airport site and any proposal to lease the area has to allow the councils develop a strategic vision for the site.
The Council is now assessing the expressions of interest in leasing the Carnmore site and says a decision will be made in due course.
