Substantial allocation to the Galway Arts community

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway Arts Festival has been awarded more than half a million euro in funding from the Arts Council.
18 local centres and organisations will receive funding for 2017.
The biggest Galway grant goes to Galway Arts Festival which will receive 530 thousand euro for 2017.
Galway Arts Centre, which houses Galway Youth Theatre, Cúirt Literature Festival and Decadent Theatre Company, will receive 178 thousand euro.
A further 84 thousand euro has been sanctioned for Clifden Community Arts Week – a week-long multidisciplinary arts festival which takes place each September.
Some other organisations in Galway which will benefit from funding are Macnas which has been allocated 225 thousand euro, Galway Film Fleadh which gets 147 thousand euro and Galway Music Residency which will get 46 thousand euro.
