Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Galway T.D has called on the Minister for Communications, Alex White and Comreg to investigate companies which offer telecoms packages over the phone.
Fianna Fáil Deputy Micheál Kitt says a number of Galway people have told him that they were offered an enticing package over the phone to change service provider.
The deal is confirmed over the phone and no written contract is issued.
The customer then finds that large bills accrue after a certain period because the fine details of the contract are not made clear, such as broadband being excluded from the deal.
