Galway Bay fm newsroom – The sod will be turned this week on a major motorway service station near Loughrea. (12/8)
Supermacs boss Pat McDonagh is building the Kiltullagh Plaza development at the Kiltullagh Junction at exit 16 on the M6 motorway.
Planning permission for the motorway service station was granted a five-year extension in 2013.
Junior Transport minister Michael Ring will visit Kiltullagh to lay the foundation stone at 2pm on Wednesday.
The Kiltullagh Plaza will be located in the townland of Carrowkeel, just off the Loughrea exit from the M6 motorway.
It’s understood the development will be based on the Obama Plaza service station in Moneygall, County Tipperary.
It will include a shop, restaurant, fast-food outlet, picnic and parking areas and filling station, and all associated services.
The service station will be accessible to traffic travelling both eastbound and westbound on the M6.
