Galway Bay fm newsroom – An international investigation and a major facial reconstruction project have proven unsuccessful in the bid to identify a man whose body was found in Barna last year.
Gardaí in Salthill have renewed their appeal to identify the man, whose body was discovered at Rusheen Bay Woods on September 27th 2014.
A facial reconstruction image compiled by the University of Dundee in Scotland was circulated last month, but the man still has not been identified.
Gardaí are appealing in particular to residents in the Salthill, Knocknacarra, Rusheen Bay, Silverstrand and Barna areas who may have seen someone matching the description of the man to contact them.
He is described as being about 30- 40 years old, 6 feet tall, with black hair and a broad build.
He was wearing a gold bracelet watch, a black leather jacket, a longsleeved microfleece top, blue jeans and Athletech white and blue runners.
The clothing worn by the deceased man is a brand mostly sold in Canada.
He had a single silver key with EPA inscribed on it and the brand of his gold watch is Caravelle by Bulova.
Anyone who may remember anything that might help in identifying the man found in Barna last year is asked to contact Salthill Gardaí at 091 51 47 20.
