77 per cent of Galway GPs have signed up compared to the national average of 50 per cent
The HSE has released the figures on the number of doctors who have signed contracts for the scheme which is due to be rolled out from July.
The lowest uptake is in South Tipperary with only 8 per cent of doctors signing up to the scheme while the highest uptake is in Donegal at 93 per cent
Many GPs have expressed concern about their ability to take part – saying they don’t have the resources to deal with the anticipated increase in workload.
