Limerick trio remanded on bail over Galway thefts

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Three people from Limerick have been remanded on continuing bail in connection with a spate of break-ins and thefts from cars around the city and county last February.
21-year-old, Margaret Connors, 21-year-old, Michael Connors and 18-year-old, Bill Connors of Bay, who all reside at Clondrinagh Halting Site in Limerick, appeared before Galway District Court this week.
The trio face a total of 38 charges involving criminal damage to car windows and the theft of touch screen stereos from seven cars at Al Hayes Motors, Tuam, one car at The Anbally Inn car park, Corofin, and one car at the Galway Bay Hotel car park between February 1st and 2nd last.
They are further charged with being found in possession of stolen property at Glenascaul, Oranmore, on February 2nd.
Michael Connors is also charged with stealing a car jack and tools from a premises near Ardrahan in January last and with the possession of stolen groceries from a filling station in Gort on February 1st.
Inspector Kevin Gately told the court the DPP had directed the charges could be dealt with at District Court level.
Judge Timothy Lucey granted all three Free Legal Aid and remanded them on continuing bail to September 16.
