Approval is being sought from the city council to complete maintenance and refurbishment works at the Claddagh Basin.
Lough Corrib Navigation Trustees is looking for planning approval for the works at the protected structure.
The works include the removal, refurbishment and reinstatement of the existing lock gates to prolong their life span.
The work also includes the provision of anchor support and a new pedestrian footbridge attached to the refurbished lock gates.
A decision is due from the city council in August.
