Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway city has won the prestigious European Green Leaf Environmental Award.
Galway beat off stiff competition from 5 other urban centres with populations under 100 thousand to secure the award.
The winner was announced at a ceremony in Europe’s current Green Capital – Ljubljana, Slovenia last night. (23/6)
The Green Leaf award recognises towns and cities which demonstrate a strong environmental record, with an emphasis on efforts that engage citizens in environmental awareness.
