Man injured in Kinvara crash dies in hospital

A man who was seriously injured in a crash outside Kinvara on Thursday afternoon has passed away at University Hospital Galway.
The incident, happened at around 1.30 pm on the road between Kinvara and Ballindereen.
The man who was 43 and a resident of the Ballyvaughan area was cycling at the time of the crash and he was airlifted to UHG where he was being treated for serious head injuries.
It is undersood that he had been on a life support machine at the hospital and he passed away there last evening (Saturday).
His name is not being released until all next of kin have been contacted.
Gardai from Gort carried out a forensic examination of the scene following the crash, and are continuing their investigations regarding the cause of the fatal crash.
Meanwhile a man in his 60s who suffered injuries in a two car crash at Kilgarve, Creagh near Ballinasloe on the Athlone Road on Friday night still remains in a serious condition at Portiuncula Hospital this evening (Sunday)
