Books of condolence have been opened at City and County Halls for victims of the Berekely tragedy.
Six students lost their lives when the balcony detached from a building in Berkeley, California.
The five Dublin students have been named as 21 year olds Eoghan Culligan, Lorcán Miller, Nick Shuster, Olivia Burke and Eimear Walsh.
The sixth, 22 year old Ashley Donohoe was an Irish-American living in the San Francisco Bay area.
Books of condolence have now opened at City Hall and County Hall in solidarity with the victims and their families.
At County Hall the national flag is also being flown at half mast as a mark of respect.
County Cathaoirleach Pete Roche says there has been a tragic loss of young lives and the families are in Galway’s prayers.
