Galway Bay fm newsroom – An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, is expected to visit Connemara in early July.
A number of engagements have been provisionally pencilled in…at Kylemore Abbey, Rosmuc and Rossaveal.
While there is no official confirmation it is understood that plans are afoot for a visit by the Taoiseach to Connemara in the coming weeks with July 6th being the most likely date.
During his visit the Taoiseach is set to officially launch the Pearse Commemorative Centre project in Rosmuc – one of the State’s landmark developments to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
Mr Kenny is also likely to visit Kylemore Abbey where a link is being established with Notre Dame University in the United States aimed at creating an educational and spiritual centre at this iconic Connemara location.
This project is supported by businessman, Martin Naughton, who founded the Glen Dimplex company.
A visit to Rossaveal is also likely where the Taoiseach will meet the group that wants further development, including a deep sea berth, at the harbour there.
