Galway Bay fm newsroom – An extension on planning permission is being sought for a new building for Clifden Community School.
The school’s Board of Management has applied to the County Council for more time to build the development.
It’ll involve the demolition of the existing Clifden Community School and pre-fabs and the construction of a new part two-storey, part three-storey building.
There will also be a new school entrance, parking spaces and an on-site waste water treatment plant at Ardbear.
Fianna Fáil Galway West T.D, Éamon Ó Cuív has criticised in the delay in getting the project underway.
It’s understood that the design team will soon issue tender documents to the preferred contractor, with work to begin before the end of the year.
