Gardai have launched an investigation following the theft of a significant amount of cash during a supermarket break-in in Mountbellew.
Raiders forced their way into Super-Valu at the Ballygar road in the early hours of this morning.
It’s understood a substantial quantity of cash and cigarettes were seized during the incident.
Gardai believe a dark colored Audi vehicle occupied by several male suspects was involved in the overnight theft.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed any suspicious behavior in the area is asked to contact Ballinasloe Garda station 09096-31890.
