Galway Bay fm newsroom – A special school in Connemara is set to get new accommodation.
Tí Nan Dooley in Carraroe has 8 pupils, a principal and a special needs teacher and is under the patronage of Ability West.
It’s the only school of its kind in the country providing education through Irish to children with learning difficulties and autism.
The need for increased space at the school was raised in the Seanad this week by Senator Trevor O’ Clochartaigh.
Senator O’ Clochartaigh explained to Education Minister Jan O’ Sullivan that funds are needed for extra resources and rooms at Tí Nan Dooley.
Minister O’ Sullivan responded by saying that her Department will consider an application for funds.
